Jackson County Grace Clinic obtains a space in Wellston
After the failure to secure our previous location in Jackson we were sent a “God Send” that enabled us to secure a building in Wellston. We are currently remodeling the building which previously served as a Tatoo Parlor. A youth group from Reynoldsburg assisted in the removal of the old carpet and painting the facility. We are now moving onto flooring and re-establishing the site for a FREE Faith-Based Clinic to serve the NON-Insured residents of Jackson County. We have NOT SET A DATE for the opening but will continue to inform the residents of the county on our progress.
At the present time we are preparing for new flooring and creating a Waiting Room (options for 8-10 chairs, 2 end tables and a lamp are being explored), Receptionist Room ( a small desk with chair and a filing cabinet would help to outfit this room), Weighing Station (a set of medical scales is needed), Two Exam Rooms, a LunchRoom (table and chairs to serve our volunteers a meal before we Open are being explored), this area will also serve as an area for Pastoral Care and Social Services Recommendations.
Presently we are applying for our 5013c but are currently working under the umbrella of Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson Ohio. We have a Planning Team and Business Plan and a Medical Director who will oversee our operations. If you are interested in supporting our START UP with a financial gift you can send your tax-deductible donation to Christ United Methodist Church, 150 Portsmouth Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640. PLEASE mark in the Memo Grace Clinic. These funds will be held in reserve from church funds and be used to support our progress on materials needed to renovate our building. As soon as we develop a Board of Directors, Treasure and 5013c status we will separate from CUMC and at that time a NEW address will be published.
Our new building is located at 22 S Ohio Ave in Wellston. We are across the street from the Mexican Resturant which is on the corner.
Progress Continues on Grace Clinic Environmental Scan and Other Areas
Our Environmental Scan and other scans from hospitals and clinics are being collected to give us a broad picture of the health clinic needs of Jackson County.
A meeting was held with ECHO representative John Mills who has offered his/their services to guide us through the development process.
Pastor Dave Roach of Christ United Methodist Church has volunteered his services to guide us through the STEPS of developing our clinic under the direction of John Mills from ECHO.
Our Planning Board has accepted the responsibility of various roles in the development of our guidelines and policies. Once we have these items in place we will establish a Board of Directors to advise Grace Clinic.
We have a Health Director that has volunteered his time and skills to our clinic.
We have had equipment donated from Adena Health Systems.
We will meet again on November 17th to tour the Jackson County Health Department and get an idea of the space available for our after hours clinic.
